Emory University School of Medicine celebrated the National Medical Association 125th Convention & Scientific Assembly on August 2, 2020. The exhilarating and exciting celebration was under the theme Sankofa. In this spirit we will honor Emory School of Medicine’s African-American history and future.
The Sankofa is a metaphorical symbol used by the Akan people of Ghana, It expresses the importance of reaching back to knowledge gained in the past and bringing it into the present in order to make positive progress.
