How to Support Our Program

The Emory Department of Family and Preventive Medicine welcomes financial support for projects that serve the community, our patients, and our current and future trainees, as well as promote community-based primary care, Family Medicine, Preventive Medicine, and the Physician Assistant professions.

PA Program Annual Heel to Heal 5K

Emory’s first-year PA class sponsors this 5K Run every spring to raise funds for non-profit partners that provide compassionate healthcare to those who otherwise would not have access such as:

The South Georgia Farmworker Health Project
HEALing Community Center
Good Samaritan Health Center

As the name implies, it is a ‘fun run’ with participants dressed up as superheroes (Heros at the Heel) with lots of fun activities. This annual event takes place in April and was started in 2001. It has several corporate sponsors and raises a significant amount of money for its causes.

LaHouse Family Medicine Resident Scholars Fund

The Family Medicine Residency program designates one first-year trainee annually as the LaHouse Scholar. This fund supports this recognition and other residency training enhancements.
