Message from the Chair
On behalf of the faculty and staff, welcome to the Department of Emergency Medicine in the Emory School of Medicine.
Our faculty and staff are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our patients, the careers of our students and residents, the safety of our community, and the health of the world through our contributions in clinical service, teaching, and research. We strive to provide high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care to all our patients.
Our department provides care to over 300,000 patients annually in five metro Atlanta Emergency Departments, including the region's primary Level 1 trauma center and the leading adult and pediatric referral centers. As part of our ongoing commitment to the development of locally relevant emergency care systems, our department provides expertise in public health, injury prevention, disaster management, pre-hospital care and emergency medical services, toxicology, emergency health system management, and clinical emergency medicine.
